| There is enough
variation in types of robotics instruction that any school should be able
to set up some kind of robotics instruction. But lack of suitable
facilities available will limit the options.
For example, schools that use Legos-based robotics instruction (Lego parts
operated via programmable controllers) need modest accomodations. A
standard classroom with a few computers could be workable. But more
serious robot building, such as FIRST competitions, require more serious
facilities. Our school lacked the equipment for aluminum welding,
forcing us to either make bolted joints, or take the robot off-site for
welding work.
