Announcement for FTE Reductions, Corvallis High School |
![]() |
Below is the email sent out to CHS staff announcing reductions in the Technology Education Department (as well as Fine Arts and Business / Computers). Enrollment is up, due in part from transfers from the other Corvallis area high school. The bold emphasis for the Technology Education row was added for this report.
Prior to pre-registration, the number of credits that students were allowed to take each year was reduced from 16 to 14. Because students must get the required courses to graduate, it follows that elective courses would have the greatest reductions.
No reductions in team sports were announced.
| -----Original Message----- From: ALDEN, CATHI Sent: Friday, May 10, 2002 11:51 AM To: #CHS Staff Subject: FTE and budget Hello, We have finalized the budget and staffing for next year. At this time, we will have 50.83 certified staff members (full time equivalents) and 12.20 classified staff members. This compares to 50.25 certified and 13.00 classified for this year. Our student population is expected to be 1325, and we are currently funded for that number. We will not be able to adjust staff or advertise openings until we know that there are no displaced teachers from other buildings who need positions. Our potential openings are .33 in science and .67 in math. George Long will be full time at Cheldelin (accounting for the science opening), and math has had a substantial increase in student requests. Please let me know if you have questions or concerns. Zoe will share department allocations today so that you can begin master scheduling procedures.
Have a good weekend. Cathi |
