I have some glass lamps similar in appearance to neon NE2 lamps, except that they have what could be a phosphor coating inside, but it could also be just a diffuser coating. I don't know what gas or gasses are present inside, but I suspect it's a blend. Light emitted from the ends (non-coated area) is still greenish.
